We’re committed to respecting your privacy and keeping your personal information private. You can visit this site without sharing any personal information, however, there are places where you may choose to provide us with your information. This Privacy Policy governs this site and is designed to assist you in understanding how HAF collects, uses, and safeguards any personal information you may provide us through www.hinduamerican.org. How we collect information about you

HAF collects and maintains certain personal information you voluntarily provide you when you complete any of our online forms, including signing up for our e-newsletter or donating. Such information may include your first and last name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. We upload such information into our database, which is hosted by a third-party database service provider. You may also be asked to provide credit card information to donate to HAF, or purchase tickets to events, materials, or other services. If you provide credit card information, your credit card will charged through a third-party service provider. These service providers do not share, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purpose.

Collecting of other information

We automatically collect certain aggregated, demographic, and other information which does not identify you personally when you visit this site. This information may include your IP address, domain name, pages being visited, click-throughs, number of pages views, average time spent on the site, time spent on any given page, and other site statistics. We may log this information to monitor the use of our site, improve the quality of our content and services, and provide you with a productive and engaging experience.

We use cookies

This site uses cookies to continuously improve your user experience, not limited to improved search results and targeted content based on your activity and preferences.

We use Google Analytics

This site utilizes Google Analytics to display content specific advertisements to visitors that have previously visited our site when those visitors go to other websites that have the Google Display Network implemented. We also use Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. We do not permit anyone other than Google and its affiliates to track your use of www.hinduamerican.org.

You may opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at any time. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. With some browsers, it is possible for a user to activate a ‘Do Not Track’ signal to indicate that the user does not want to be tracked across the websites that the user visits. www.hinduamerican.org does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Right of opt-out, access, and correction

We provide individuals the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their personally identifiable information collected by us. In addition, European data protection legislation gives individuals the right to access personally identifiable information held about them. Individuals may ensure that such information is accurate and relevant for the purposes for which we collected it. Individuals may review their own information and correct or remove any information that is incorrect, as permitted by applicable law. To request opt-out, review, modification or removal of personal data, you should submit a written request to us at membership@hinduamerican.org.

Ways information about you may be used

We may use the information you voluntarily provide to contact you regarding advocacy efforts and other programming we believe you may be interested in. We may also use such information to solicit your support for our programs. We may also send such information to the people whose email addresses you provide when forwarding any of our electronic content. When we do so, our sole intent is to keep those potentially interested in HAF apprised of our work and events, and to enlarge our circle of advocates and supporters. Every recipient of our electronic communications can quickly and easily “opt out” of future such communications by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send.

When and where appropriate, we may link to the websites of other organizations or companies which have content or products that align with HAF’s work. These websites are not affiliated with HAF, and as such, while we do our best to ensure that your privacy is respected on www.hinduamerican.org, we cannot be responsible for other the privacy policies and practices of other websites to which we may have linked. HAF is also not responsible for the content of these websites. Please check with these third-party organizations or companies for their specific privacy policies.

Security

We use generally accepted, industry-standard security systems, software, and encryption technologies–-Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)–for the secure transfer of personal and financial data and to protect against unauthorized access to HAF’s servers, equipment, and other components of our online presence. This includes using industry-standard security systems to protect credit card processing information. Our web servers are located offsite at physically secure facilities with limited access.

Donor privacy policy

Hindu American Foundation maintains high donor privacy standards. HAF will never trade, sell or share the personal information of a donor with any entity or organization. A donor’s personal information may include name, amount donated, mailing address, phone number, credit card number, data visible on checks, or email collected both offline and online through written, verbal and electronic communications or via website and mobile device tools. This information is used to process donations, produce tax receipts, generate thank you acknowledgments and send emails about HAF’s work. HAF will never send donor mailings on behalf of other entities. HAF will never share any personally identifiable information for fundraising or marketing purposes. Donors can expect HAF will seek permission if otherwise.
